Stark Raven Mad
A little known gem above Abraham Lake near Nordegg, Alberta. There is lots of great climbing along this quiet highway and many of the multipitch climbs, including this one, were first climbed by CRAG’s head guide Jay Mills in the early 2000’s. Stark Raven Mad is one of the best routes in the area and follows a series of corners, cracks and slabs up the walls of Mt Stelfox. The views from the climb are hard to beat!
Location: Mount Stelfox near Nordegg, AB along the David Thompson Highway. 2.5 hours from Canmore, 3.5 from Calgary or Edmonton.

Logistics: Stay in nearby Nordegg or enjoy the beautiful random camping options along the David Thompson Highway. April through early October is the best time to plan a climbing trip to this area. Up to 2 guests can join the guide for an ascent of Stark Raven Mad or other nearby climbs.
