But My Daddy's a Psycho
A very challenging pillar that forms beside Murchison Falls most years. After climbing the first WI3 pitch of Murchison, we launch up the steep crux pillar for a long pitch of very technical ice! Another long pitch of WI4 connects us to Murchison Falls. Above we either finish on the last pitch of Murchison Falls, or if ice conditions allow we can climb a unique pitch of ice into a cave behind the main curtain.
Location: Icefields Parkway near the Saskatchewan River Crossing. 2 hours from Canmore, or 1 hour from Lake Louise or Nordegg.
Difficulty: WI5+
Length: 200m
Logistics: Either make the drive from Canmore/Jasper/Nordegg, or stay at one of the HI Hostels closer by. One guest per guide is recommended, although two guests may join if reasonably experienced.
