Introductory Rock Climbing & Rappelling Lessons for Beginners in Canmore and Banff Alberta

"Beginner Rock Climbing & Rappelling days are a perfect choice for groups of friends, co-workers, families, or youth groups looking for a fun summertime adventure!"

Join us for a fun and adventurous day in the mountains trying out the sport of rock climbing! After a short walk to the crags we will start with a lesson on using the gear, belaying (controlling the ropes), and basic climbing techniques. Within half an hour of reaching the climbing area everyone will begin trying the climbs. Starting with climbs rated as easy and gradually progressing through the day to more difficult routes, everyone will get their share of climbing and challenge! The length of the climbs at most areas ranges from 10 meters to 25 meters in height, and the settings in the mountains are spectacular!

Learning to Rock Climb in the Canadian Rockies

Beginner rock climbing & rappelling days can take place at a number of areas in Kananaskis, Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Nordegg, or Jasper. An additional fee may be charged for trips in the Nordegg or Jasper areas to cover guides expenses.

Who can climb?
Anyone with basic walking fitness and a little bit of courage can have a fun and successful day of rock climbing!

For youth groups the minimum age requirement is 10 unless accompanied by an adult family member or guardian. Children as young as 6 can participate with family groups, and kids always seem to love it!

Waiver forms must be signed by all adult participants, and a parent or legal guardian must sign waivers along with any participants under 18 years of age.
