Rock Climb the Grand Sentinal near Lake Louise Alberta with a certified climbing guide. The normal route on the Grand Sentinal, Mt. Lefroy in the background.

The Grand Sentinal is one of the most unique rock climbs in the Canadian Rockies. Set in the spectacular Sentinal Pass area above Moraine Lake, this free standing tower has some great climbing, awesome views, and a memorable summit! To access the tower, the world famous Sentinal Pass trail is taken for about two hours. From the pass we descend a short ways to the base of the tower and the climb. There are two choices of climbs to do on the tower. The normal route up the Grand Sentinal is four pitches of rock climbing up to 5.8 in difficulty, although it feels quite steep and difficult for the grade. The other option is a bolted 5.10d route known as Cardiac Arete. Both climbs offer great climbing throughout and standing on the tiny summit will not soon be forgotten!
