Participants should also be familiar with basic climbing skills such as belaying, and expect the climbing to be strenuous on the arms & upper body.
- A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to book your spot on this course with the remainder due 4 weeks prior to start
- E-mail us
and we will provide you with an electronic invoice which can be paid by credit card, e-transfer, cheque, or PayPal.
Days 1 & 2 - An awesome two days of drytooling and mixed climbing in the Bow Valley! We will practice movement skills, clipping and dealing with gear, leading techniques, safety considerations, and of course do tons of climbing!
Because the group size is so small it is not neccessary for everyone on the course to be at the exact same skill level, we will choose venues that have a variety of difficulties of climbs. The November dates may be drytooling both days since the routes with ice aren't always formed by then, but since that's the main focus anyways it wouldn't change what skills we learn.
Optional Day 3 - Multipitch Ascent: Course participants can add on a discounted day of multipitch ice or mixed climbing in groups of 1 or 2 people. $450 for 1 person, $250 each for 2 people. There would be an additional fee for really long routes such as those on the Coire Dubh Wall. Please request this option in advance. See the[ice] page for more information on guided ascents.
Group gear such as ropes, ice tools, and carabiners will be provided by Canadian Rockies Alpine Guides. You can either bring
your own personal gear or borrow most items from us at no charge. Please just let us know if you would like to borrow anything
for the course.
