Prerequisites: At least a couple days of previous ice climbing experience. Participants should also be
familiar with basic climbing skills such as belaying. If you are unsure about your readiness for this course, please just
send us an e-mail and we can help you decide.
- A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to book your spot on this course with the remainder due 4 weeks prior to start
date. E-mail us (email@example.com)
and we will provide you with an electronic invoice which can be paid by credit card, e-transfer, cheque, or PayPal.
Days 1 & 2 - On this course your guide will strive to provide instruction that is most relevant to your skill level.
Therefore, it is impossible to provide an exact agenda, but there will be 2 full days of climbing in the Canmore, Banff & Lake Louise areas! Topics
covered may include movement skills, anchor building, mixed climbing, intro to lead climbing skills, steep ice techniques, gear selection & maintenance, and
just about anything else you would like to learn! Because the group size is so small, it is not neccessary for everyone on the course to be at the exact same
skill level, we will choose venues that have a variety of options for climbs!
Optional Day 3 - Multipitch Ascent: Course participants can add on a discounted day of multipitch climbing in groups of 1 or 2 people. $450 for 1 person, $250 each for 2 people. Please request this option in advance. See the[ice] page for more information on guided ascents.
Group gear such as ropes, ice tools, and carabiners will be provided by Canadian Rockies Alpine Guides. You can either bring
your own personal gear or borrow most items from us at no charge. Please just let us know if you would like to borrow anything
for the course.
